    White House Press Sec Turns On Their Own

    Since the U.S. Constitution protects the freedom of speech, it is crucial for the press to have access to our government’s decision-makers.

    A president’s viewpoint on topics has typically been communicated primarily through news conferences, which also serve as a forum for press inquiries and statements from the president or his staff.

    However, it appears that this flexible approach has been severely restricted under the Biden administration, with only specific media representatives being permitted to be present at specific times.

    Some people believe that these limitations are being used to only ask and then provide responses to specific inquiries.

    Only journalists who have been “pre-credentialed” for events with Vice President Biden are permitted entrance to events, according to White House aides.

    According to The Washington Times, when reporters have inquired about the reasons they were denied permission to attend an event with the president, they have received a variety of responses, ranging from COVID-19 restrictions to a lack of room in the venue.

    After being mostly restricted throughout the Biden administration, journalists have requested that customary sites and significant events on the grounds be allowed again, according to the Daily Caller.

    At one point, the Times was told that reporters were rotated on a monthly basis, but that doesn’t appear to be accurate as several outlets have gone several months without being admitted.

    The conflicting explanations and cryptic selection process has fueled concerns the administration is limiting who can ask Mr. Biden questions, the Times noted.

    Fed up with these restrictions, seventy journalists have recently signed a letter to press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre requesting increased access to traditional White House venues and key events.

    “The current method of allowing a limited number of reporters into these events is not only restrictive and antithetical to the concept of a free press, but it has been done without any transparent process into how reporters are selected to cover these events,” the letter read. “We are all left wondering who is making these decisions and what are the criteria on which they are based?” CONTINUE READING…
