Whistleblower Bombshell: IRS agent alleges DOJ thwarting criminal prosecution of Hunter Biden

    Published on

A decorated IRS agent-turned-whistleblower has informed the Justice Department’s top overseer that federal prosecutors appointed by Joe Biden have blocked criminal tax charges against his son Hunter Biden due to “preferential treatment and politics.” The whistleblower provided tangible evidence contradicting Merrick Garland’s recent congressional testimony regarding the decision to bring charges against Joe Biden being left to the U.S. Attorney for Delaware appointed by Donald Trump.

According to a letter obtained by Just the News from whistleblower’s attorney Mark Lytle to Congress, the IRS agent wishes to provide sensitive information about a high-profile case to congressional tax-writing committees, which are authorized to receive such information under federal tax privacy laws. In the following weeks, the details could be shared with other committees.

Hunter Biden is not mentioned as a subject of the whistleblower disclosure in the letter. Multiple sources directly involved in the investigation have independently verified to Just the News that the agent’s allegations pertain to the Hunter Biden investigation being led by Delaware US Attorney David Weiss, a Trump holdover.

Democratic and Republican members of multiple congressional oversight committees received a letter from Lytle on Wednesday that stated, “The protected disclosures: (l) contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee, (2) involve failure to mitigate clear conflicts of interest in the ultimate disposition of the case, and (3) detail examples of preferential treatment and politics improperly infecting decisions and protocols that would normally be followed by career law enforcement professionals in similar circumstances if the subject were not politically connected.”

The letter can be read in its entirety at this link.

Since December 2020, Hunter Biden has been the subject of a criminal tax investigation. His representative disclosed that he paid $2 million in delinquent tax invoices last year. Hunter is confident that he will be exonerated of all criminal charges.

Wednesday, two powerful members of the House of Representatives pledged to investigate and hold the Biden administration accountable if it is found to have engaged in criminal activity. The chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer, expressed concern regarding the prospect of “obstruction of justice.”

“It’s deeply concerning that the Biden Administration may be obstructing justice by blocking efforts to charge Hunter Biden for tax violations,” Comer said in a statement to Just the News. “The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has been following the Bidens’ tangled web of complex corporate and financial records.”

“It’s clear from our investigation that Hunter and other members of the Biden family engaged in deceptive, shady business schemes to avoid scrutiny as they made millions from foreign adversaries like China,” the statement continued. “We’ve been wondering all along where the heck the DOJ and the IRS have been. Now it appears the Biden Administration may have been working overtime to prevent the Bidens from facing any consequences.”

The chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, Jason Smith, stated that he will investigate where the facts lead.

“We appreciate this outreach and look forward to sitting down promptly with this individual to better understand the scope and detail of the concerns raised,” Chairman Smith wrote in a statement. “The Committee takes seriously any allegations of misconduct by government officials or offices and will, on behalf of American taxpayers, look into concerns that are brought to our attention. It is our responsibility to ensure the tax code is applied fairly and appropriately to all Americans – whether through the oversight efforts this Committee initiates or the need for oversight that is brought to our attention.”
