Watch: ‘You’re an Absolute Jerk!’: Former Obama Adviser Gets Eviscerated Live on CNN

    Published on

Last week, former Obama campaign manager Jim Messina and conservative commentator Scott Jennings engaged into a heated on-air argument that quickly turned very personal.

Messina accuses Jennings of repeating Republican “talking points” at one point in the fight, to which Jennings retaliated by branding Messina “an absolute jerk.”

According to the transcript of the show, the discussion about Republicans’ growth among Latino voters is where the exchange on “CNN Tonight” originally started.

They concentrated particularly on the Arizona Senate contest between Republican Blake Masters and Democratic incumbent Mark Kelly.

According to the transcript, Jennings stated that ““According to some polling, Masters is close to Kelly,”.

Messina interrupted, “Do you want to bet money on that race?” indicating that he didn’t agree with how the campaign would turn out.

“Do I want to bet money?”  According to the transcript, Jennings inquired. “You wanna bet money on the governor’s race?”

“You’re just holding the Republican line in everything you’ve said tonight,” Messina remarked. “Let’s be in the middle.”

The transcript revealed that Messina subsequently made the charge several more times.

“Scott, come on. Enough with the talking points,” he remarked.

    Jennings didn’t take it well.

Jennings remarked, “I feel like your debate with Karl Rove that you had before you came here — like, your ears are clogged,”.

“No, I’m just concerned that the RNC gave you the talking points and now you can’t shift,” Messina stated.

The repeated nature of the debate made Jennings clearly irritated, and he told Messina:

“I tell you what, man, do you have a single friend?”

“You’re an absolute jerk,” he continued.

(Although it’s obvious in the video, the word “jerk” is omitted from the CNN transcript.)

Jennings then addressed Alisyn Camerota, who was attempting to end the quarrel between the two men.

“I’m sorry, I don’t come on here and read talking points. You know me, and you know me, and you,” Jennings said, pointing to Camerota, co-host Laura Coates and political strategist and “The View” co-host Ana Navarro, who were also at the table.

He added, “I don’t come on here and read talk — I don’t even know you, and you come on here and insult me. I don’t want to be accused of reading talking points.” CONTINUE READING…
