On the eve of the election, former president Donald Trump cast his ballot in Florida. As he was leaving, he spoke briefly with the media and disclosed that he had chosen Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for governor.
Videos of Trump and his wife Melania leaving a Palm Beach voting place are going viral on Twitter.
In one video, a reporter is heard asking, “Did you vote for Governor DeSantis?
Trump answered over his shoulder, talking over the wind which his microphone seemed to be picking up, “Yes, I did.

Charlie Crist, a Democrat, is running against Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis for governor of Florida.
On election day on Tuesday, DeSantis continued to lead Crist in the FiveThirtyEight survey with 54.5 percent support to 42.4 percent.
DeSantis is predicted to win the Florida election by 270towin.
After casting his vote, Trump made the following general remarks before responding to the query about DeSantis above:
“I think we’re going to have a great night. It’s going to be great for the country. It’s an honor to be here. They’ve done a fantastic job inside,” Trump stated. “But I think we’re going to have a very big night and it’s going to be very exciting.”
With the midterm election season finally coming to an end, Trump announced at the beginning of the week that he would be making a “very big” statement on November 15. Trump has been dropping hints about making an announcement about the 2024 presidential election for a few months.
This announcement was mentioned by Trump on Monday during a rally in Ohio.

He also noted that he will be making the announcement from Mar-a-Lago, his Florida residence.
While Trump and DeSantis may end up being rivals, given both of them may have eyes on a 2024 presidential bid, Trump does support DeSantis as Florida’s governor.
