It may have been Nancy Pelosi’s news conference, but Democratic Representative Maxine Waters stole the spotlight.
On Tuesday, a 15-second clip showing Pelosi speaking at the Summit of the Americas summit in Los Angeles on Friday, with the California representative standing almost motionless behind her, went viral.
In the clip, Waters regarded the camera without expression. She seemed completely uninterested in what the speaker was saying.

She blinked and shifted her sight from the camera at 11 seconds.
The clip was taken from a 34-minute video in which each member of the Democratic congressional delegation said a few words.
When Waters was introduced, she read from a prepared statement for two minutes, and nothing seemed amiss.
Still, the shorter clip understandably drew an outsize response on social media.
You okay @RepMaxineWaters? pic.twitter.com/ekL0Bbm4wL

?? Is it just me or do both of these treasonous, corrupt politicians Pelosi and Maxine Waters look like fakes, masked doubles, clones or whatever the heck they are. They’re definitely not themselves. It’s so obvious to me. They’re kind of frightening to look at.? pic.twitter.com/QGa5jUJLGr
