Joe Biden, a Democrat, is praising the release of a famous basketball player who had been imprisoned in Russia for violating the nation’s drug laws, but he has said nothing about the US Service member who is still being held in the harsh Russian gulag IK-17.
The basketball star who was formerly regarded as the most wanted individual on the planet for his historical crimes against humanity was also freed after Biden exchanged him for a Russian prisoner.
As Commander in Chief, Biden is demonstrating an astonishing lack of responsibility by entirely ignoring a service member, carrying out such a blatant prisoner swap, and leaving the American Marine to fester in his Russian Hell.
“Former US Marine Paul Whelan has spoken out from Russian prison, saying he is ‘disappointed’ the Biden administration has not done more to secure his release following a prisoner swap to free WNBA star Brittney Griner,” according to the Daily Mail.
“Whelan was NOT part of Thursday’s controversial prisoner swap, which saw Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman help broker Griner’s release in exchange for a Russian arms dealer known as the ‘Merchant of Death.”
While Whelan is allowed to suffer in a Russian prison camp on espionage charges that his relatives and the US government claim are unfounded, many Americans have criticized President Joe Biden of choosing celebrities above soldiers.

In a phone call to CNN from the isolated Russian penal colony where he is serving a 16-year sentence, Whelan said, “I am greatly disappointed that more has not been done to secure my release, especially as the four-year anniversary of my arrest is coming up.”
“I was arrested for a crime that never occurred,” he claimed. “‘I don’t understand why I’m still sitting here.”
“My bags are packed. I’m ready to go home. I just need an airplane to come and get me,’ added Whelan. ‘It’s quite obvious that I’m being held hostage.”
