On Saturday, Donald Trump expressed his conviction that he has not committed any misconduct and reaffirmed his refusal to accept a plea bargain if he were to face charges related to election interference in Georgia.
Trump blamed President Joe Biden for his current predicament and referred to the reporter who posed the question as a “wise guy” for asking such a question.
Fani Willis, the district attorney of Fulton County, Georgia, has indicated that she will present her case regarding the former president’s interference in an election to a grand jury within the next week.
If an indictment were to be issued in this case, it would be Trump’s fourth indictment, coming just two weeks after his most recent indictment in Washington, D.C.
At the Iowa State Fair, a significant event on the 2024 campaign schedule, Republicans were present.
Former President Trump’s visit to the fair elicited effusive responses from admiring supporters, while members of Congress also took advantage of the opportunity to convey their own messages.
During a brief press conference on the tarmac prior to President Trump’s departure from Iowa to his championship golf course in New Jersey, he was asked about his potential willingness to accept a plea agreement in the Georgia case involving allegations of election interference.
The reporter inquired as to whether he could accept a plea bargain in the state of Georgia.
“We did nothing wrong. We don’t ever take a plea deal. We don’t take plea deals. It’s a wise guy question. You’re just a wise guy,” Trump responded. “We don’t take plea deals because I did nothing wrong. It’s called election interference.”
Subsequently, Trump asserted that Biden was responsible for the allegations as a strategic maneuver to win the 2024 election. He also mocked the recent appointment of a special counsel in the Hunter Biden investigation and used the term “wise guy” to refer to the reporter for a second time.
In the D.C. lawsuit, Trump was also questioned about his willingness to comply with the judge’s directive, but he declined to make a firm commitment.
REPORTER: Is there any chance you take a plea deal in Georgia?
TRUMP: We did nothing wrong. We don’t ever take a plea deal. We don’t take plea deals. It’s a wise guy question. You’re just a wise guy. We don’t take plea deals because I did nothing wrong. It’s called election interference. You know what that is?
Because Biden is releasing the indictments. Who cannot even string together two sentences. This is Vice President Joe Biden. Since he cannot win the election on his own. He cannot win based on votes alone. Therefore, they had the attorney general carry out the action. Then you realize how foolish they were yesterday when they appointed the special counsel. They refer to it as special counsel. What a bizarre occurrence that was! And it is being mocked around the world.
