Last week, Fox News announced that it had “severed ties” with popular presenter Tucker Carlson. Now, according to new reports, Newsmax, another prominent conservative network, is allegedly willing to offer Carlson more than a large salary.
TMZ reports that Newsmax is interested in giving Tucker Carlson his own primetime show and enabling him to program the entire network. This would grant Carlson a substantial amount of authority, including the ability to decide which shows are presently broadcast on the network.
“Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … the news channel is doing everything it can to sweeten the deal for Tucker to come on board — including floating the idea of letting him program the whole channel, not just his own show. That would be a pretty enticing deal point … in addition to having his own primetime show, Tucker would have a say over what shows lead into and out of his show, which can be key in achieving bigger TV ratings,” TMZ reported.
“While our sources stress Newsmax hasn’t formally offered Tucker a job — he can’t have formal discussions due to his current Fox News contract — we’re told the network execs have made it clear to people around him, they would basically give him a big say in rebranding their channel,” the report added.
Late last week, rumors began to circulate about who Fox News might choose to replace Carlson.
Who Will Replace Tucker Carlson at Fox News? ” was the title of a report by Mediaite. Here Are Mediaite’s Top Picks,” in which staff members compiled a roster of prospective hosts who could fill Carlson’s coveted 8 PM time slot. Prior to reaching a final decision on Carlson’s replacement, Fox News stated it would rotate hosts.
Currently, Jesse Watters airs at 7:00 PM ET, Sean Hannity airs at 9:00 PM ET, and Laura Ingraham airs at 10:00 PM ET.
In its report, Mediaite suggested that Fox News could simply switch Watters, Ingraham, and Hannity to the 8 p.m. time slot and tryout a new host in a later time slot.
Thus, a more experienced host would merely assume Carlson’s position on the network.
In the event that Fox News retains the primetime hosts in their current time slots, Mediaite has suggested the following six candidates to replace Tucker Carlson:
Greg Gutfeld — who hosts “The Five” and his late-night comedy show “Gutfeld!”
Tulsi Gabbard — a former Democratic lawmaker and 2020 presidential candidate
Kayleigh McEnany — former press secretary in the Trump administration
Brian Kilmeade — a longtime host and figure at Fox News
Pete Hegseth — a co-host and contributor at Fox News
Jesse Watters — who hosts “The Five” and his own primetime show
Time will tell what Fox News decides to do, but the dismissal of Tucker Carlson sparked a social media firestorm this week.
On Monday, Carlson received a phone call from CEO Suzanne Scott informing him that he had been dismissed. According to reports, Carlson was “blindsided” by the news.
Now, a former Fox News host believes he understands why Carlson was fired.
During an interview with News Nation’s Chris Cuomo, former Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly argued that he believes Tucker Carlson was fired because the network is facing a slew of lawsuits related to the 2020 presidential election.

“Because the pending litigation was harpooned this morning. Carlson didn’t know. It just happened. And that’s the nature of television news, the most wicked industry in the United States of America,” O’Reilly said. CONTINUE READING…
