Speculation Erupts as Donald Trump Shows Up in DC Area Unannounced

    Published on

Donald Trump, the former president, set off a flurry of rumors on Monday by merely appearing in the Washington, D.C., area for the second visit since leaving office.

The visit was not publicized, but owing to the efforts of independent journalist and YouTuber PenguinSix, Andrew Leyden, the news of it spread on social media.

Around six o’clock, Leyden stated in a video message. Using “aircraft spotters I hang out with,” Trump said on Sunday that he was “on his way to Washington.”

The reporter was able to capture video of Trump stepping off his jet and driving away after rushing to Dulles International Airport in Virginia and searching at various areas.

Based on the direction Trump’s convoy was traveling in the footage, Leyden hypothesized that Trump was traveling to his golf resort in Potomac Falls, Virginia.

Others shared pictures that showed the former president had traveled to Washington from New Jersey even though he didn’t have any public appearances planned for the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

As watchers tried to guess why Trump may be back in Washington, speculation ran riot.

Newsweek saw significance in the fact that Trump was wearing golf shoes while reflecting on the visit and spoke with several anti-Trump individuals who were concerned with a potential arrest.

The website added that the former president might visit Washington for a speech by his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, on Monday at a gathering organized by the Abraham Accords Peace Institute and the America First Policy Institute.

    Commentary was everywhere on Twitter.

Ok. Donald Trump arrived in DC wearing golf shoes. Golf shoes have spikes on the bottom of them — like cleats — and it ruins the spikes if you walk on concrete with them. Trump didn’t have time to pack another pair of shoes before flying to DC? This was 100% an unplanned flight.

Wait til they find out why Trump came to DC today.

Seth Abramson, a journalist, found flaws in nearly everyone’s theories.

“I’m seeing many people saying he’s at Walter Reed with no evidence to support the claim. Others are saying he’s going to be arraigned tomorrow, but DOJ has implied it’ll take no such action pre-election,” Abramson tweeted. “A search of a Trump DC property? Possibly—but no evidence of *that*, either.”

I guess I just don’t want anyone to get their hopes up that this means anything at all. It could be literally nothing. Or it could be something. We’ll have to be patient.
