President Donald J. Trump cannot have a portrait painted without his opponents erupting in wrath and jealously, and the fact that he does things his own way gives the left ammunition to rant about the lack of respect for the ‘how things are done in Washington, DC.’
BREAKING: The Smithsonian has revealed plans to soon unveil Trump’s official portrait.
We’ve contacted the director of the National Portrait Gallery and will start a petition to STOP these plans immediately. 🧵

The explanation for Trump’s outbursts against the media may be because he is going on the offensive and sponsoring his own picture. Leftist street troops are enraged and mobilizing for protests against the National Smithsonian in response to the relocation.
The timing of this announcement could not be worse. Putting Trump on a literal pedestal at THE SAME TIME the DOJ weighs an indictment is dangerous.

As with most other aspects of former President Donald Trump’s political career, something unusual is occurring with the National Portrait Gallery paintings of the former president and former first lady Melania Trump, according to the Western Journal.
In other words, Trump asserts that he will conduct himself independently. Why does this surprise the left?
Trump’s political action committee will pay for the majority of the pictures, as opposed to individual contributors as was the case with previous president Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama.
According to Business Insider, a spokesperson for the Smithsonian, Linda St. Thomas, stated that the museum received a $650,000 payment from the Save America PAC.
Listen to NY Magazine’s sour grapes reporting on the details of the payments.
“According to additional study, Trump had not only gained a new taste for the arts. A Smithsonian representative confirmed to Insider that the funds will be used to commission pictures of Donald and Melania Trump for the National Portrait Gallery.
The payment, which Trump’s Save America PAC acknowledged without explanation in a Saturday filing with the Federal Election Commission, will “fund the artists’ fees, shipping, frame, installation, and events,” according to Smithsonian spokesperson Linda St. Thomas.
More on this story via The Republic Brief:
“Two artists have been commissioned, one for each portrait. The names will be released closer to the reveal of the paintings,” St. Thomas said. “The creation of the portraits is underway. The timing of the artworks’ reveal not determined yet.” … St. Thomas noted that “all portraits of presidents at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery are paid for with private funds raised by the museum.”
