In sports, there is an old saying that “Father Time is undefeated.”
For those unfamiliar with sports ball, the phrase refers to the inevitable deterioration of professional athletes’ physical abilities as they age.
But just as time and age often catch up with a professional athlete in his late 30s, the same is true for the average American as he or she approaches octogenarian status.
In other words, time and age will unquestionably catch up (or have already caught up) with Joe Biden, who is 80 years old, and he is being criticized for it by those who are all too familiar with the passage of time.
According to The Messenger, it is difficult for President Biden to garner the support of senior citizens in his community of Scranton, Pennsylvania, due to a multitude of factors, including his age.
The Messenger spoke with several senior citizens in a city dominated by Democrats and discovered that support for the incumbent president was anything but unanimous.
Ike Mielo, 82, voted for Biden in 2020.
He explained to The Messenger, “After a certain age, you begin to lose your consciousness. I see myself, obviously. I believe we require a youthful man.”
86-year-old Barbara Petroski, another 2020 Biden supporter, went so far as to refer to the president’s current persona as a “front.”
“He’s making a good front and everything, but I just don’t think he has the capabilities anymore,” Petroski said. “And four more years? I just don’t think he’s going to have the brain power.”
She informed The Messenger that she will not vote for Biden in 2024. Instead, she desires that former Vice President Mike Pence run for president.
Notably, Petroski stated that she would only vote for Biden if he ran against former President Donald Trump, should Trump be the GOP nominee in 2024, despite her belief that both men are too old. (Trump is 76 years old.)
“There comes a time when you must give up your position. And it is difficult to acquiesce to that as well,” she said.
Fred Miller, a retired Republican in his sixties, stated that he would vote against Biden because he has no faith in Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I don’t want to pick [a newspaper] up in the morning and see that President Biden has passed away overnight and now Kamala Harris is our president,” Miller said. CONTINUE READING…
