After special counsel John Durham’s report revealed that Rep. Adam Schiff repeatedly lied about “collusion” between former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia, a Republican lawmaker has introduced legislation to expel him from the House.
According to reports, Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna introduced the resolution late on Wednesday as demands grew louder to oust him from the chamber.
Schiff repeatedly lied to the nation for years, claiming he had “evidence” of the alleged collusion and initiating unnecessary “investigations” into the allegation.
“Adam Schiff lied to the American people,” said Luna. “He used his position as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee to promote a lie that cost American taxpayers millions of dollars and abused the confidence placed in him.”
“He is a dishonor to the House of Representatives. The Durham Report makes clear that the Russian Collusion was a lie from day one and Schiff knowingly used his position in an attempt to divide our country,” she added.

In response, Schiff tweeted: “BREAKING NEWS: A MAGA Republican Member of Congress just filed a motion to expel me from the U.S. House of Representatives. I stood up to Donald Trump and held extreme MAGA forces accountable. Now they want payback. They’ll go after anyone who defends the rule of law.”
In the meantime, on Tuesday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-California) responded to Durham’s report by proposing Schiff’s removal from the House.
In a report of more than 300 pages that was made public on Monday after a four-year investigation, Durham accused the FBI and the Justice Department of launching an unjustified investigation into the 2016 campaign of then-GOP nominee Donald Trump. His report also revealed that the Hillary Clinton campaign was extensively involved in creating the false narrative that Donald Trump’s campaign was “colluding” with Russia to interfere with the election.
“Durham revealed that, just weeks before the presidential election, former President Barack Obama, then-Vice President Joe Biden, and the heads of the CIA, Justice Department, and FBI were all briefed on Clinton’s plan to smear Trump with the Russia Hoax in August 2016,” Slay News noted. “Despite knowing it was a hoax, those same top officials pursued and spread the false claims.”
Throughout Trump’s presidency, Schiff frequently asserted the existence of collusion — in congressional proceedings and on various cable news networks — but Durham’s findings refuted it utterly.
“It raises the question about Adam Schiff,” McCarthy said on Tuesday. “Remember when Adam told the American public he had proof? Remember when he said he didn’t know the whistleblower?
“What he put America through when he openly lied to us,” McCarthy said. “It raises questions about his character and whether he should be in Congress.”

The report generated a great deal of criticism, mostly from Republicans and many of whom long suspected that Durham would find a hoax. Also, Durham’s finding that the FBI and DOJ so willingly participated in it has brought new scrutiny as well. CONTINUE READING…
