Monday’s raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach, Florida, was planned in advance, according to individuals who spoke to TMZ.
According to TMZ’s sources, anytime the FBI conducted such a search, agents would typically handcuff the target of the search warrant if they were present at the site of the raid, regardless of whether there was a confrontation between them or not.
Once agents determine that the property being invaded is secure, they would remove the target’s handcuffs, according to TMZ, but they would restrict the subject from entering the sections being searched.
The FBI apparently assessed the political risk of handcuffing Trump and waited until the former president was at Trump Tower in New York City before raiding his house on Monday.
According to TMZ, the FBI’s purported calculations did not prevent the raid on Trump’s property from being politically “inconvenient” as anticipated.
“My beautiful home Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump stated in a statement regarding the search.
“After working and cooperating with the relevant government agencies, this unannounced raid at my home was not necessary or appropriate,” stated Trump.
“They even broke into my safe! What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee? Here, in reverse, Democrats broke into the home of the 45th President of the United States,” Trump noted.
Moments after Trump’s statement, a large gathering of Trump fans gathered at Mar-a-Lago while waving the American flag and Trump’s logo.
According to the Daily Mail, police stationed outside Mar-a-Lago watched the big rally as supporters of the former President arrived in trucks bearing Trump-Pence posters with former Vice President Mike Pence’s name crossed out.
Local sheriff’s deputies assisted FBI agents in maintaining order in the area surrounding the seized property.
Demonstrators carried placards reading “Make Votes Count Again,” “Keep America Great,” and “I Trust Trump.”
Some Republican politicians have vowed revenge against Democratic leaders and members of the Biden administration’s Department of Justice should they regain control.

“I’ve seen enough. The Department of Justice has reached an intolerable state of weaponized politicization,” Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said in a statement shared on Twitter.
“When Republicans take back the House we will conduct immediate oversight of this department, follow the facts and leave no stone unturned.”
“Attorney General [Merrick] Garland: preserve your documents and clear your calendar,” McCarthy warned. CONTINUE READING…
