According to a new book, Prince Harry offered a proposition to restore his relationship with the royal family that stunned the now-Queen Consort.
According to an excerpt from “The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown” published by Vanity Fair on Tuesday, when Harry suggested using a “mediator” to resolve his differences with then-Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, responded by “sputtering” into her tea.

Charles was “somewhat bemused” by Harry’s proposal, which would have implicated a third party in the royals’ highly public conflict.
According to the passage, Camilla rejected the proposal as “ridiculous” and insisted that the royals resolve their disagreements personally and as a family.
Harry gave an interview to NBC days after a meeting marked by “moments of stress” in which he emphasized his wish to have his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II “protected” and surrounded by the appropriate people.
According to the passage, this infuriated several active, working royals, who viewed his statements as demeaning.
Prince William, Harry’s older brother, is the most estranged from the dissident royal, according to the book.
