Poll Worker Ejected By Election Office After What He Allegedly Did to Voters’ Ballots

    Published on

An Indiana poll worker has indeed been fired amid accusations that he directed voters toward Democratic candidates, prompting a hail of mutual accusations and finger-pointing.

According to the Indianapolis Star, the claimed occurrences happened last week in Carmel, Indiana, during early voting.

Republican Beth Sheller, the county’s election administrator, said two black voters claimed poll worker James Zheng informed them that Republican candidates for school board were racist.

Additionally, according to Fox News, county Republican Chairman Mario Massillamany claimed that Zheng frequently chose Democratic candidates across the board while pretending to be helping voters, which led to complaints from voters who claimed they were unable to reverse what Zheng had done.

Fox News claims that a different poll worker helped the voters erase Zheng’s actions.

These claims led to Zheng’s removal as a poll worker on Thursday evening, and she won’t be permitted to work on Election Day.

    Zheng denied the assertions.

According to the Indianapolis Star, Zheng said in a statement, “I categorically deny these allegations and would point out that at no time during the early voting on the 3rd did the inspector call me aside and confront me with these false allegations.”

“I am willing to come forward and testify, under oath, consistent with the above,” Zheng declared.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department has been requested to look into the matter, according to Massillamany.

Massillamany said in a statement that “This should serve as a cautionary reminder that those desperate to hold onto power or gain power will do anything — including breaking the law — to thwart the efforts of parents and taxpayers to replace our school boards with officials who more accurately reflect the values of our community.”

The Hamilton County Democratic Party called the action “desperation and retaliation politics at its worst.”

“The Hamilton County Republican Party is trying to sow last-minute doubt into the integrity of our elections,” the Democratic statement read, according to WTTV-TV. “We believe voters deserve honesty and the truth.”

Republicans, however, say vigilance is needed to protect the integrity of the voting. CONTINUE READING…
