Pence hints he would NOT support Trump in 2024

    Published on

Mike Pence, a former vice president RINO, is making the rounds playing snide over the fervent backing President Donald J. Trump has been receiving for a possible presidential bid in 2024.

The Daily Mail said that “Pence hints he would NOT support Trump in 2024 if he runs for president: Says ‘there might be somebody else I’d prefer more’ when pressed by students,” which increased rumors about potential rivals.

At a recent speaking engagement in Georgetown, Pence was asked explicitly if he would support Trump in 2024. His response, “No,” was greeted with applause.

Trump and Pence have both hinted about running for president in 2024, which may put them against one another.

“What I can tell you is, I have every confidence that the Republican Party is going to sort out leadership,” Pence offered. “All my focus has been on the midterm elections, and it’ll stay that way for the next 20 days.”

“But after that, we’ll be thinking about the future, ours and the nation’s,” Pence went on. “I’ll keep you posted.”

Last week, Trump kept hinting at a run in 2024.

He promised participants at a fundraiser at his Mar-a-Lago club that he would reveal his political plans “very soon” and that they would be “very happy” according to Politico.

The most conclusive comment to date came from an interview he gave to New York Magazine during the summer: “In my own mind, I’ve already made that decision,’ the most definitive statement to date.”

Despite the fact that Texas is a red state and does not have any competitive 2022 elections, the former president is traveling there this weekend to headline a sizable campaign rally.

Pence has been hosting donor retreats and establishing a political apparatus that he may utilize to begin his own 2024 campaign at the same time.

Trump and Pence fell out after four years of working together to run the country when Pence declined to annul the 2020 election when he presided over the joint session of Congress on January 6 to declare President Joe Biden’s victory.

Since then, Trump has stated that he would pick a new running partner if he were to run again.

Other Republicans are also preparing to announce their presidential campaigns.

Sens. Tom Cotton and Tim Scott’s initiatives were covered by Politico earlier this month.

On Monday, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez announced that he was also thinking about running.

Asa Hutchinson, the Republican governor of Arkansas and a vocal opponent of Trump, has also expressed interest in running for president.

On the same Pence video, Fox News reported as follows:

More on this story via The Republic Brief:

Video from a speech delivered Wednesday by former Vice President Mike Pence at Georgetown University shows students walking out during the speech while other students unveiled a sign saying “reproductive rights are human rights.”

The video, posted by the Young America’s Foundation from a speech it hosted at the Washington, D.C., university, shows dozens of students walking out of the room while Pence spoke and as other students in the balcony of the venue unfurled a flag with pro-choice messaging.

Several of the students were wearing masks, and one could be seen waving a gay pride flag on the way out the door. CONTINUE READING…
