Pelosi Says She Has NO PLANS To Retire Then Makes New Statement On Biden ’24

In contrast to predictions, Democrats performed better than expected in the midterm elections, capturing the Senate while the House of Representatives, which had been predicted to gain at least 30 GOP seats, is still up for grabs but leaning Republican.

Democrats currently command 204 seats in the next Congress, while Republicans hold 211 as of Sunday afternoon. Democrats, who had a dim perspective on the midterm election due to the sorry state of the country, are receiving more votes than anyone anticipated. A party requires 218 members to have a governing majority.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whose support for her position and those of other Democrats had been waning as the Democrats’ chances in the election, now seemed to have a newfound strength.

In two interviews with Sunday television talk shows, Pelosi expressed her complete support for the president’s bid for a second term while partially attributing the success of Democrats to Biden.

If Democrats succeed in beating the odds to preserve control of the House, Pelosi has not indicated to either network where she stands on whether or not she will run for speaker again.

“My decision will then be rooted in what- the wishes of my family and the wishes of my caucus. But none of it will be very much considered until we see what the outcome of all of this is,”  the California Democrat stated.

In response to a recent break-in at her San Francisco residence that left her 82-year-old spouse Paul with a skull fracture and other injuries necessitating hospitalization, the House Speaker was coy about whether she would once again run for a leadership position. She explained that the final choice would largely depend on her family. In the interview, Pelosi made it apparent that she believed Republicans had not adequately responded to her husband’s attack.

She claimed that the GOP’s “horrible response” to her husband Paul’s assault may have contributed to voters’ disapproval of their candidates on CNN’s State of the Union. There are still a lot of unresolved concerns concerning Paul Pelosi’s alleged relationship with the invader, as he referred to the man as a “friend,” despite the fact that the vast majority of individuals on both sides of the aisle denounced the crime and sent their condolences to the Pelosi family.

After an intruder came into their home, Pelosi told the network that Paul was “closer to recovery” every day but that it would be “a long haul.”

Asked if it had an effect on voters just days before the November 8 Election Day, Pelosi responded: “It is a trend in what I’m hearing. But it wasn’t just the attack. It was the Republican reaction to it, which was disgraceful,’ the Speaker said. “The attack is horrible. I mean, imagine what – how I feel, as was the one who was the target, and my husband paying the price, and the traumatic effect on our family.”

Suggesting she’d given relinquishing the gavel at least some thought, Pelosi added, ‘But there are all kinds of ways to exert influence…speaker has awesome power, but I will always have influence.’

She told ABC News, “I’m not making any comments until this election is finished.” But the speaker clarified later that she intends to remain on Capitol Hill for the foreseeable future. CONTINUE READING…
