Now That the Election Is Over, Democrat Finally Admits Biden Isn’t ‘Doing Enough’ to Tackle Border Crisis

    Published on

Once elected, politicians who fervently campaigned on subjects like border security frequently shift their positions when the realities of such concerns start to shatter party fantasies.

Katie Hobbs, the Democratic candidate for governor of Arizona, seems to be experiencing this phenomenon, as her stance on border security appears to have altered significantly since her contentious victory against the Republican candidate Kari Lake.

Hobbs reportedly said on Tuesday that she “doesn’t think the Biden administration is ‘doing enough’ to address the situation at the southern border,” on “CNN This Morning.”

“We need real action on immigration reform. We need real border security,” Hobbs added, evidently realizing that a record-breaking rise of unauthorized border crossings from South American nations and Mexico was taking place.

This represents an intriguing change from her campaign promises to tear down the cargo container walls her predecessor had built along portions of the border.

Hobbs referred to the barriers as “political stunts that are really not solving issues at the border,” according to KYMA-DT, but he did not provide any other options besides threatening to knock them down.

It is unclear how Hobbs intends to achieve “real border security” while demolishing temporary barriers and supporting Chris Nanos-style pro-open border sheriffs.

She funded an advertisement for Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos going along the southern border back in August.

It is commonly known that Nanos supports an open border.

In the advertisement, Nanos promised that “Hobbs will deliver whatever resources are needed to keep you safe, my team safe, our state safe. She’s not here to politicize our border.”

Hobbs’ past indicates that he might not accept such resources even if they are supplied, despite Nanos’ promise that Hobbs will deliver the resources required for border security.

Several publications, including Arizona Daily Independent, claim that Nanos made a pledge to reject Operation Stonegarden’s federal border security monies when he ran for sheriff in 2020.

The report claims that “Operation Stonegarden, a federal grant program utilized for immigration enforcement, now provides financing for public safety activities in both Cochise and Pinal counties, which, like Santa Cruz and Pima, are important conduits for the cartel’s drug mules.”

Nanos was also documented as vowing to work with various open border groups during his campaign.

Hobbs told “CNN This Morning” that discussing her supposed border plan with President Joe Biden is a top priority for her.

“I’ve said this, I don’t think they are doing enough. I would love to have them visit and see firsthand the kind of support and relief that folks in these communities need from the federal government,” Hobbs said. CONTINUE READING…
