Matt Gaetz Makes Massive Announcement On Tucker Carlson’s Future Plans

    Published on

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s fans have been wondering what he will do next, and now Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz says he knows.

The representative posted a teaser about the former host on Twitter.

“OMG wait till everyone sees what @TuckerCarlson has planned…,” he said

Monday, Megyn Kelly ‘broke’ the news of Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News, stating that the former host with the highest ratings cannot really go anywhere else. Kelly, a former Fox News personality, asserts that Carlson is still under contract with Fox.

“I wanna, I think, break some news for you. Tucker Carlson hasn’t actually been fired,” she said during her Thursday podcast on SiriusXM. “He’s still an employee of Fox News Channel.”

Kelly went on to explain that CEO Suzanne Scott contacted Carlson and informed him that he would no longer be permitted to host programs and would be denied access to the company’s email. She also stated that the pair must now “negotiate an exit” from the network.

She continued by stating that Tucker was “completely blindsided” by Scott’s call, but that he is not dismissed.

“That’s my information, that he still needs to negotiate the exit and that right now he’s not free to launch a podcast or a digital show or negotiate with other employers at all because he’s still under contract,” Kelly continued.

She added that Carlson repeatedly asked Scott why he was being removed from the air, but Scott refused to answer. According to an Independent report, Carlson was fired as he was negotiating a new contract that would have kept him at the network through 2029.

“To me, that is so disheartening,” Kelly continued, explaining that Carlson managed to thrive and help the network succeed during one of its most turbulent periods, which included the ouster of longtime CEO Roger Ailes and the departures of Bill O’Reilly and herself.

Then why now? What prompted them to abuse their No. 1 star with such contempt? Kelly pondered.

Carlson has concluded that he was fired because the Murdoch family is planning to sell the network. Others have divergent opinions.

This week, during an interview with News Nation’s Chris Cuomo, O’Reilly contended that he believes Carlson was fired because the network is facing a slew of lawsuits related to the 2020 election.

Fox News recently settled a lawsuit with Dominion for a staggering $787 million. Abby Grossberg, a former Fox News booker, has also filed a lawsuit against the network.

“Because the pending litigation was harpooned this morning. Carlson didn’t know. It just happened. And that’s the nature of television news, the most wicked industry in the United States of America,” O’Reilly said.

“Tucker Carlson took over from me. For the first three years, his ratings were soft. He lost about a million, maybe a little bit more of my audience, and then in 2020, he took a hard right turn,” O’Reilly said. “Carlson basically programmed for a very hard right audience, and his numbers came up.”

Regardless of the cause, Fox News’s ratings have suffered a significant decline, which Kelly describes as a “bloodbath.”

Former CNN media analyst Brian Stelter posted some numbers on Twitter Thursday that show a precipitous drop in viewership for Carlson’s former time slot, 8 p.m. EDT. He claims that viewership numbers dropped from 2.65 million on Friday – Carlson’s final show – to 2.59 million on Monday, 1.70 million on Tuesday, and 1.33 million on Wednesday. CONTINUE READING…
