Tucker Carlson, a former Fox News host, updated his Twitter bio to reflect a change in employment on Monday, but he did not comment or otherwise elucidate on his shocking departure from the network.
Monday morning, cable’s highest-rated anchor was abruptly let go in what the network claimed was a mutual decision.
“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” Fox News said in a statement. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”
Numerous reports subsequently revealed that Carlson’s dismissal was ordered by the company’s highest-ranking executives.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Fox Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch ordered the termination in part because he disapproved of Carlson’s coverage of the Capitol incursion on January 6, 2021.
According to Vanity Fair, the decision to cancel “Tucker Carlson Tonight” was made by Fox Corp. executive chairman Lachlan Murdoch, the son of Rupert Murdoch, and Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott.
According to a source close to Carlson, the former presenter believes he was fired because the Murdoch family intends to sell the company.
According to each report, a lawsuit filed against Fox News by Abby Grossberg, an employee on Tucker Carlson’s program, played a role in the abrupt firing of the host.
But as of Tuesday morning, nothing has been validated, and Carlson has made no public comments about it.
The host did, however, delete his entire Twitter bio on Monday afternoon to reflect his departure from Fox News, where he had been a contributor since 2009.
His previous bio stated facetiously, “Emmy-winning broadcast journalist, Harvard College and Yale Law School graduate.” Frequent guest at the Aspen Institute. Fully immunized. She/Hers.”

The bio also contained a link that directed readers to his personal website.
As of Tuesday, the Twitter bio lacked a connection to a website.
It appears Tucker Carlson has erased his Twitter bio.

The fact that he acquired at least 100,000 followers in the hours following his dismissal stands out as a notable detail.
TuckerCarlson.com includes several segments of Carlson’s Fox News monologues and other specials.
Notably, the website welcomes visitors with a straightforward message that may or may not be a warning shot across the network’s bow.
The website features a photograph of Tucker Carlson and labels him “The sworn enemy of censorship.” It also encourages visitors to sign up for notifications so that they are aware of what he is “up to next.”
