Kari Lake Fumes as Arizona TV Station Posts Midterm ‘Results’ 12 Days Before Election

    Published on

A local Fox affiliate in Phoenix looked to have called a gubernatorial race… a whopping 12 days before the election, in an occurrence that will probably not improve the strained and adversarial relations between Americans and the main stream media.

When a widget showing Democratic governor candidate Katie Hobbs easily defeating Republican opponent Kari Lake during the Thursday broadcast of KSAZ-TV, the local Fox station in the Valley of the Sun, it caused quite a stir.

In case you missed it in the movie, here is a screenshot of the relevant widget:

For those who follow the news in Phoenix, it was a startling sight. Not only did Hobbs receive the red checkmark indicating her victory, but the actual vote totals were also shown.

According to the widget, Hobbs received 1,252,437 votes and Lake received 1,102,326. The vote appeared to have taken place and been counted already.

Lake instantly questioned KSAZ’s motivation for doing this. It’s noteworthy that Lake served as an anchor there for 22 years.

“WOAH.. right after my press conference going after the Media,” Lake tweeted. “Retaliation?”

To clarify the issue as an honest mistake, KSAZ intervened.

The site said that the widget’s appearance was a flawed “test.” Intriguingly, KSAZ also appeared to assign some of the responsibility to The Associated Press, which it said was responsible for creating the enigmatic tabulations.

A KSAZ poll definitely shows Lake leading Hobbs by double digits, contradicting the inaccurate widget even more.

Despite accumulating proof that Lake had nothing to do with the event, Lake was mostly held responsible by Hobbs for a break-in at the Democratic candidate’s political headquarters this week.

Election day for the midterms is Tuesday, November 8. On that day, a number of races, including the Arizona governor’s race, will be decided.
