Kari Lake Closing the Gap, Majority of Uncounted Ballots Are from ‘Ruby Red’ Districts

A recent report provides some cause for hope for Republican Kari Lake supporters as the nail-biting suspense of the election for the governorship of Arizona continues to play out.

After a competitive campaign between Lake and Hobbs, the Democratic candidate Katie Hobbs has held the lead since Election Night.

On Saturday, Hobbs bucked expectations that she would lose ground when Maricopa County’s 85,000 votes were counted. According to KSAZ-TV, once they were tallied, she was holding onto a 1.6 percentage point lead.

On Saturday, though, there were still around 270,000 ballots to be counted, and Hobbs was ahead by about 35,000 votes.

According to Garrett Archer, a KNXV-TV election analyst, Hobbs’ lead may be starting to erode, which is what Republicans have been hoping will happen.

“About 90k of the remaining 170k uncounted EVs are from the ruby red CDs 5, 8, and 9. Another 70k from purple CDs 1 and 4,” regarding early voting in the state’s congressional districts, he stated on Twitter.

The remark was consistent with a Saturday night tweet.

“It’s not a question that Rs will win the next batches. Only a question of by how much,” he stated in a different tweet.

According to the Arizona Republic, Republican pollster Paul Bentz of the Phoenix company HighGround had been less optimistic about Lake’s chances.

“There’s still a path to victory here for Lake,” Bentz added.

“But she needs these remaining rounds of ballots to be incredibly Republican-leaning from here on out. She can’t afford to have another round of returns on this level; otherwise, it will make it incredibly difficult to come back,” he said.

Lake declared that she would exercise patience while also expressing her belief when the polls closed.

More on this story via The Western Journal:

“God did not put us in this fight because it was going to be easy,” Lake said Tuesday, according to KSAZ-TV. “Not one thing that we’ve had to go through has been easy.

“We’re gonna be patient. We’re gonna wait,” Lake said. “We will take the victory when it comes, and we will turn this around.”

On Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo” on Sunday, Lake said Hobbs, who is currently Arizona’s secretary of state and as such oversees elections, should have recused herself from that role because of her candidacy for governor. CONTINUE READING…
