Joe Biden Records for Cellphone Paid by Hunter Subpoenaed by House Committee

    Published on

A GOP-led House committee investigating allegations of potentially improper foreign business transactions has issued a subpoena for the records of a cellphone reportedly purchased by President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.

Peter Schweizer, an expert on political corruption, stated in an interview on Tuesday that the relevant documents were discovered on Hunter Biden’s laptop computer. Between 2009 and 2017, when the current president was serving as vice president, the phone in issue was reportedly used.

“We obtained that phone number, and we’ve shared it with individuals and the Oversight Committee in Congress is going to subpoena those phone records. And what’s important here is that’s not a government phone, this is not Joe Biden’s private phone that he’s paying for himself. It’s actually [Hunter] Biden’s business that paid for it,” Schweizer told WABC’s Cats & Cosby show.

“I think it’s going to yield a lot of interesting information as to who Joe Biden was talking to on this phone that was being paid for by his son,” Schweizer, author of several books on political corruption including, “Secret Empires: How Our Politicians Hide Corruption and Enrich Their Friends and Households,” told the hosts.

In 2018, the author disclosed that Hunter Biden received millions of dollars in untaxed foreign income, which prompted subsequent IRS and grand jury investigations.

Joe Biden appears to be laying the groundwork for a pardon of his troubled son, as the Department of Justice is reportedly close to deciding whether to charge him with a variety of tax and gun-related offenses.

This is the opinion of New York Post columnist Miranda Divine, who has written a book titled “Laptop From Hell” about the problems of the first son.

Devine made her remarks to Fox News after Joe Biden, in a rare sit-down interview, dismissed the possibility of his son facing charges and stated that it would have no effect on his presidency.

“My son has done nothing wrong,” Biden said during the sit-down interview with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle that aired at 10 p.m. Friday. “I trust him. I have faith in him, and it impacts my presidency by making me feel proud of him,” he continued.

“That mythology of Joe Biden that’s been around for more than four decades, which is that he’s a lovely family man… moderate Democrat, lunch pail Joe, working-class Joe, the poorest man in Congress, and a wonderful family man full of empathy because of the tragedies in his own life. That’s what he’s playing on,” Devine said.

“I think the end game is that he’s setting up… framing this sympathy card so that when it comes time, perhaps in his lame duck period, that he will pardon Hunter and Americans will forgive him because they will say, well, Hunter was a drug addict and Joe just loves his family, and he’s been through enough tragedy in his life,” she continued. “Leave him alone.” CONTINUE READING…
