The newly released security footage from the January 6, 2021 incident at the U.S. Capitol Building reveals that then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was not in dire danger, contrary to her previous statements.

“Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has described having to evacuate a riotous Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, as traumatic,” Just the News reported in a post containing the new footage.

“But Capitol Police security footage obtained by Just the News shows the long-time Democrat leader exited Hollywood-style from the home of Congress that fateful day with her daughter filming her as security officers tried to guide her through a secret safe passage corridor,” the report continued.

In addition, Pelosi, who was third in line for the presidency at the time, was surrounded by as many as twenty armed and presumably armed security personnel.

Pelosi was reportedly heavily involved in Capitol security prior to the incident that occurred just before the certification of the 2020 presidential election.

The Daily Wire reported in December that text messages and emails disclose the Speaker’s office held regular meetings regarding the security detail for January 6, 2021.

According to the report, the Speaker’s office “aided in revising authorities’ plans and denied multiple requests from federal law enforcement required to protect the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

“Reps. Jim Banks (R-IN), Rodney Davis (R-IL), Troy Nehls (R-TX), Jim Jordan (R-OH), and Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) independently published a 141-page investigative report on Wednesday outlining what they describe as House Democratic leadership and Capitol authorities’ failures that left the complex vulnerable,” it said.

The report detailed how the Speaker’s office coordinated with law enforcement prior to the incident, as well as how Democrats were concerned about the appearance of an increased police and National Guard presence.

The majority of Republicans in the House said last month that Pelosi, a Democrat from California, should be summoned to provide additional testimony about security failures that day.

“The reason there wasn’t a proper security presence on that day goes right to the speaker’s staff and the speaker’s office. As you go back and look at the communications, there’s this pattern that develops where the Sergeant of Arms is meeting with Pelosi’s staff,” House Judiciary Committee chair and Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan said.

“Many of those meetings, Republican staff wasn’t allowed to be there, but they had this pattern where everything had to run through her office, her staff, before the Sergeant of Arms could make a decision,” he added.

Rep. Troy Nehls, a Republican from Texas, issued a similar response: “And Nancy Pelosi.” You do have queries you need to answer … Nancy, we’ll get you, and we’ll fly you back from Italy once you’re the ambassador,” Nehls joked in response to allegations that President Biden was contemplating offering Pelosi the position of U.S. Ambassador to Italy.

According to an excerpt from his new book, “Soldier Secretary: Warnings from the Battlefield & the Pentagon about America’s Most Dangerous Enemies,” Christopher Miller criticized Pelosi for her behavior during the January 6 disturbance.
