After the FBI raid on the Mar-a-Lago estate of former President Donald Trump in Palm Beach, Florida, the White House is seeking to distance itself from the contentious operation.
Tuesday during a press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if the Biden administration was aware of the planned raid.
She disputed that administration officials were ever briefed about the raid.
“No, the president was not briefed, was not aware of it. No. No one at the White House was given a heads up, no. That did not happen.”

Under a typical government, it would be difficult to trust this. The vast majority of presidents would be aware of the FBI’s preparations to execute a broad search warrant on anyone, especially a former U.S. president.
Given the disorganized nature of the Biden administration, it is almost plausible that Biden and his staff were unaware of the planned raid. If so, this constitutes a major indictment of several government personnel.
First, if no one in the White House knew about the raid, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland would be indicted. As attorney general, he virtually definitely was aware of the raid, and he ought to have informed President Joe Biden.
Second, the Department of Justice, and the FBI in particular, would be responsible. They should have communicated such a high-profile raid to Biden or someone in his administration, and if they failed to do so, it was a failure to carry out their responsibilities.
Either the White House was aware of the raid and is now lying about it, or the FBI and DOJ executed the search order purposefully behind Biden’s back.
In any case, the federal government is in a compromising position.

Nonetheless, Jean-Pierre continued with the strategy of denial and silence throughout the news briefing.
When another reporter asked her whether she was concerned about the optics of the Justice Department raiding the home of a former president, Jean-Pierre said nothing. CONTINUE READING…
