Elon Musk said that he felt “like I was dying” after receiving his second coronavirus booster shot, amid a Twittersphere controversy regarding the severity of the vaccine’s adverse effects.
Since time immemorial, there has been vehement dispute over the amount and severity of adverse effects associated with certain vaccines.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention state on their website, “The advantages of COVID-19 vaccination outweigh the known and potential hazards.”
Experts and non-experts have discussed what this means in the context of a worldwide pandemic as new information emerges regarding the degree of side effects since vaccinations began. On Friday, cartoonist Scott Adams sparked a Twitter conversation by speculating online about how to interpret a Rasmussen poll on vaccine adverse effects.
Musk replied with a significant revelation.
“I had major side effects from my second booster shot. Felt like I was dying for several days. Hopefully, no permanent damage, but I dunno,” he wrote, while adding that a cousin of his suffered myocarditis after getting a shot.

The CDC has said there is a”small but increased risk of myocarditis after mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.”
The vaccines produced by Moderna and Pfizer BioNTech are mRNA vaccines. Myocarditis refers to inflammation of the heart muscle, whereas pericarditis refers to inflammation of the heart’s outer lining.
“When reported, the cases have especially been in adolescents and young adult males within several days after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna),” the CDC wrote.
