After weeks of threats from Republican lawmakers, FBI Director Christopher Wray has consented to allow members of Congress to view an unclassified document on Capitol Hill next Monday.
A House Oversight Committee spokesperson informed Breitbart that the FD-1023 document purportedly links President Joe Biden to a $5 million bribery scheme. “The document is a record of an interview the FBI conducted with an informant, and it allegedly details an arrangement involving an exchange of money for policy decisions between now-President Joe Biden and a foreign national.”
“Chairman Comer will receive a briefing from the FBI and review the document on Monday. Chairman Comer has been clear that anything short of producing the FD-1023 form to the House Oversight Committee is not in compliance with his subpoena,” the spokesperson told Breitbart. “This unclassified record contains pages of details that need to be investigated further by the House Oversight Committee.”
Chairman of the House Oversight Committee James Comer (R-Kentucky) and FBI Director Christopher Wray met on Wednesday to confirm the existence of the document.
Breitbart News reported that the form allegedly contains information about an arrangement involving a financial exchange for policy decisions between the current president and a foreign individual.
But Comer also noted in an announcement that Wray is still refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena to turn over the unclassified document, which is likely to result in a charge of contempt of Congress.
“Today, FBI Director Wray confirmed the existence of the FD-1023 form alleging then-Vice President Biden engaged in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national,” Comer noted in a statement. “However, Director Wray did not commit to producing the documents subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee.”
“While Director Wray – after a month of refusing to even acknowledge that the form existed – has offered to allow us to see the documents in person at FBI headquarters, we have been clear that anything short of producing these documents to the House Oversight Committee is not in compliance with the subpoena,” Comer continued.
“If the FBI fails to hand over the FD-1023 form as required by the subpoena, the House Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings,” he added.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-California) warned on Tuesday that contempt proceedings would be initiated if Wray failed to produce the subpoenaed document.
The committee investigating allegations of improper foreign business transactions has also issued a subpoena for the records of President Biden’s mobile, which was allegedly purchased by his son Hunter Biden.
Peter Schweizer, an expert on political corruption, stated in an interview that the relevant documents were discovered on Hunter Biden’s laptop computer. Between 2009 and 2017, when the current president was serving as vice president, the phone in issue was reportedly used.
“We obtained that phone number, and we’ve shared it with individuals and the Oversight Committee in Congress is going to subpoena those phone records. And what’s important here is that’s not a government phone, this is not Joe Biden’s private phone that he’s paying for himself. It’s actually [Hunter] Biden’s business that paid for it,” Schweizer told WABC’s Cats & Cosby.
“I think it’s going to yield a lot of interesting information as to who Joe Biden was talking to on this phone that was being paid for by his son,” Schweizer, author of several books on political corruption including, “Secret Empires: How Our Politicians Hide Corruption and Enrich Their Friends and Households,” told the hosts.
