Fox News contributor and renowned liberal Geraldo Rivera was again criticized on social media for a Wednesday post criticizing a segment of CNN’s town hall featuring former President Donald Trump.
The event was moderated by the network’s emerging star and morning show co-host, Kaitlin Collins. Rivera’s censure of Trump stemmed from a comment he made about Collins during the event, when she challenged him on a point he was attempting to make.
Trump’s remark, “You’re a nasty person,” elicited mirth and applause from the predominantly supportive New Hampshire audience.

Rivera tweeted in response: “I’ve liked President Trump over the decades through thick and thin, even after I pledged never again to support him after January 6th. But when he called Kaitlan Collins ‘nasty’ I felt like spitting. It was so unmanly,” he tweeted.

Multiple Twitter users responded to Rivera’s comment.
This is sickening. Fox News should have fired Geraldo, NOT Tucker Carlson.

Meanwhile, following the town hall, CNN CEO Chris Licht prepared to announce that Collins, 31, will assume Chris Cuomo’s former 9 p.m. ET primetime schedule, which he held until his dismissal.
“CNN, which has endured some of the worst ratings in its history under Zaz’s hand-picked C.E.O., Chris Licht, is now poised for a brief taste of the same power and influence that it enjoyed in the old days. And it will achieve that massive audience, of course, via the very same mechanism that fueled the Zucker years: Donald Trump,” Puck News reported.
