A breach of Hunter Biden’s iCloud account was discovered at the beginning of the month, prompting 4Chan members to assert that they acquired access to voluminous information regarding the vice president’s son. The Secret Service began monitoring the accusations at that time.
Screenshots that seemed to be stolen from Hunter Biden’s phone and computer were uploaded on 4Chan. It was not feasible to verify the assertions. Later, purportedly hacked-obtained content was taken from the chat platform’s threads.
Anthony Guglielmi of the Secret Service stated, “At this time we are not in a position to make public comments on potential investigative actions but I can assure you the Secret Service along with other federal law enforcement partners are aware of the social media posts and claims referencing Mr. Biden,”
During a hearing on Thursday, Florida Republican Representative Matt Gaetz posed many questions concerning Hunter to Assistant Attorney General for National Security Matthew Olsen.
As Gaetz interrogated Olsen, he criticized the Attorney General’s office for neglecting to investigate suspected criminal action by the president’s son, arguing that the business activities posed a threat to national security.
“Is Hunter Biden a national security threat?” Gaetz queried.
“That’s not a question that would come before me,” Olsen said.
Gaetz said, “You’re the head of the National Security division, so it seems sort of on the nose,”
Olsen asserted that it is not his role to designate individuals as dangers to national security. During the conversation, Gaetz warned that Hunter may constitute a threat to national security if his family was compromised. Olsen answered that his division examines such concerns openly.

Following this, Gaetz questioned Olsen if he knew where Hunter’s laptop had gone. Several files and emails on his computer detailed his overseas dealings with Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, and CEFC China Energy, a Chinese energy company.
“Speak to this, where’s the laptop? Do you know where Hunter Biden’s laptop is?” Gaetz pressed.
