President Joe Biden, angered by allegations that he participated in lucrative international ventures, repeated the falsehood that he “never” discussed business with his son Hunter.
Biden yelled at Peter Doocy of Fox News, accusing him of asking a ‘lousy question’ regarding allegations that he was used to purchase influence during his tenure as vice president under Barack Obama.
“There’s this testimony now where one of your son’s former business associates is claiming that you were on speaker phone a lot talking business,” Doocy stated to Biden.
Doocy was referring to Archer’s allegations that Joe had been present or on speakerphone 20 times during Hunter’s meetings with coworkers to complete gathering millions of dollars.
“I never talked business,” Biden said in response. “I knew you’d have a lousy question.”
“Why is that a lousy question?” Doocy enquired.
“Because it’s not true,” Biden lied angrily before turning and walking away.
The tense encounter occurred a few hours after Republicans released new bank statements revealing transfers to Biden family members and associates from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine.
According to testimony presented last week to the House Oversight Committee by Hunter’s former business associate Archer, the then-vice president was present at roughly 20 meetings between Hunter and colleagues over a ten-year period.
While Archer denied overhearing Joe Biden discussing business, he did allege that Hunter would use his father as leverage and that the vice president speaking on speakerphone was sufficient to promote the “brand” to foreign business executives.
‘I can definitively say at particular dinners or meetings, he knew there were business associates,’ Archer said last week in a conversation with Tucker Carlson.
I cannot confirm whether the call-in was prearranged or not. Archer continued, “if you’re sitting in a room with a foreign businessperson and you hear the vice president’s voice, that’s prize enough.”
Archer characterized the discussions as “occasionally a call would come in while the speaker continued speaking.” You comprehend Washington, D.C., correct? So the ability to have access to that conversation is not part of a scheduled conference call, and it pertains to your family. That is the pinnacle of authority in Washington, D.C.
When describing the conversations to the committee, he stated, “If his father calls him during dinner and he answers the phone, then there is a conversation.” And the conversation is typically about the weather and how life is in Norway, Paris, or wherever he may be.’
Hunter Biden supervised “government regulatory issues” through the investment and policy advisory firm he co-founded with Archer, Rosemont Seneca.
Carlson questioned, ‘Did Hunter have regulation expertise?’
Archer remarked that the majority of Hunter’s work consisted of knowing who to contact and added, “I believe he led a team that did the same.”
Wednesday, the Oversight Committee made public a letter describing the transfer of $3.5 million to Rosemont Seneca by multimillionaire Yelena Baturina. These funds were routed through accounts to which Archer and Hunter had access.
