Federal Judge Unseals More Of Trump Raid Search Warrant

    Published on

The Biden DOJ’s several investigations of the former president Trump have not resulted in any charges being filed against him.

The “Russiagate” probe, the search of the Trump family’s Florida residence, and the inquiry into the incidents on January 6 at the U.S. Capitol have all failed to provide any evidence that may be used to impeach the former president.

Documents in question were found as a part of the recent Mar-a-Lago raid.

The records in Trump’s hands were supposed to be a part of his planned presidential museum but were repeatedly referred to as “classified” by the media and Democrats.

Trump claims that he personally declassified the papers before departing the White House.

The affidavit of the search warrant, the majority of which was redacted and kept confidential, conceals the purpose for the raid on the Trump residence.

More of the search warrant has now been revealed by the judge, albeit several portions are still heavily redacted.

    According to The Epoch Times:

“The DOJ investigation was triggered by a referral from the National Archives and Records Administration, which asserted it found classified records when Trump transferred records to the agency in January.

“Several of the documents also contained what appears to be [Trump’s] handwritten notes,” the newly unredacted portion of the affidavit also said.

That information was allegedly gleaned when FBI agents carried out a preliminary review of 15 boxes that were provided by Trump to the National Archives and Records Administration, identifying some documents with classification markings from May 16 to May 18 of this year.

There were 184 documents bearing classification markings, including 92 documents marked as ‘secret’ and 25 marked as ‘top secret.’

Trump and members of his team have said that he had a standing declassification order while he was in office, and days after the raid, he wrote that all of the documents obtained by the FBI were declassified by him.

Days later, he pointed to a memorandum issued during his final day in office saying he will declassify materials relating to the FBI Crossfire Hurricane investigation.”

The FBI then started spying on Trump and his advisers.

As part of that probe, the FBI got warrants from a FISA court to electronically monitor former Trump campaign assistant Carter Page as they looked into possible Russian collusion on Trump’s behalf.

Later it was revealed that Christopher Steele, a former UK spy, who was conducting opposition research on Trump during the 2016 campaign, wrote a number of memos and notes that contained now-discredited information that the FBI had relied upon.

The DOJ later determined that several of the warrants used to spy on Page were illegal.

Therefore, the snooping did not succeed.

A portion of the 38-page document was redacted partially or entirely on about 20 pages when U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart originally made it public last month.

In that affidavit, the FBI stated that it had “probable cause to believe” that supplemental records containing classified information, including information about national defense, would be discovered on the grounds of Trump’s residence, in addition to the records he had already turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration.

Tuesday, Reinhart granted the Justice Department’s request to release portions of the Trump affidavit that were initially censored, notably those portions pertaining to grand jury subpoenas.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) affidavit that was used to obtain an FBI search warrant for former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago was further unsealed by Reinhart on Tuesday, and it came to light that an unnamed FBI agent claimed that the former leader turned over materials related to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and Human Intelligence Control Systems.

The updated affidavit (pdf), which was posted on Tuesday, states that the government withheld information about what the records included.

Although many of the court document’s redactions remained in place, more of it was revealed.

An FBI agent whose identity was withheld in the document’s release on Friday claimed that earlier this year, they “observed markings reflecting the following compliments/dissemination controls: HCS (Human Intelligence Control Systems), FISA, ORCON (originator controlled), NOFORN (not for release to foreign nationals), and SI (special intelligence)”.

Meanwhile, according to The Epoch Times, former White House adviser Kash Patel told the Wall Street Journal in mid-August that he thinks some of the FBI’s papers were relevant to the Russia probe.

More on this story via The Republic Brief:

That means other people might be implicated by the information.

Patel described the raid as politically motivated.

“It had to do with Russiagate. It had to do with the Hillary email scandal. It had to do with a whole lot of other stuff. And [Trump] said, ‘This is all declassified,’” Patel said. CONTINUE READING…
