Amazing! Former President Donald Trump was given airtime by ESPN, a significant establishment media outlet that is jointly controlled by Disney, and allowed to direct people to a webpage that the Republican National Committee funds because they love it so much! Are you serious?
What is that? Can’t you?
Well, congratulations. Obviously, since it never ever occurred. Sadly, the fact that the exact reverse of that really occurred makes it more plausible.
In reality, Barack Obama appeared on “Monday Night Football” yesterday as part of a campaign to bring out the vote and as a promotion for the ESPN2 program “Manningcast,” which is often broadcast alongside the game and is hosted by siblings Peyton and Eli Manning.
I don’t know about you, but I myself enjoy a good dose of political sleaze with my football more than anything else.
“Mr. President,” Peyton introducing the section, went on to say, “we know the midterms are coming up here on Nov. 8. We know you’ve been busy out on the trails. We know how important it is to vote and to have your voice heard. What can people do to register and find out more about the process?”
You’re aware that it’s improper for attorneys to pose questions in court that they do not already know the answer to. Peyton would have probably become a good lawyer if his football career hadn’t panned out.
Obama said, “Listen,” presumably fearing that viewers would focus the majority of their focus on the live broadcasts of the New England Patriots vs the Chicago Bears game taking place directly to his right.
“Every election is important in a democracy,” he said. “And regardless of where you stand on the issues, you taking 15, 20 minutes out to let your voice be heard makes a big difference.”
I have no issues with anything said in this portion thus far. However, that ceased at 42 seconds in the next video: Obama stated, “And, you know, you’ve got all kinds of issues, from jobs, the economy, climate change — you know, you name it,”
Okay, I’ll give it a name. My beef is with ESPN for giving a free advertisement to one of the most significant individuals in the Democratic Party and enabling him to promote a DNC website on a national broadcast.
More on this story via The Western Journal:
In fact, not only did they let him push the site, they helped. As Obama spoke, a graphic — obviously pre-planned — appeared on the screen, pushing IWILLVOTE.COM, a site that clearly states it has been “Paid for by the Democratic National Committee.”
Apparently, Peyton, Eli and ESPN have all been paid for by the DNC as well.
“You can go to iwillvote.com — iwillvote.com — and it’ll give you all the information you need to find out,” Obama urged, repeating the name of the website as if he thought the graphic insufficient or the URL too complicated for his viewers to grasp on their own. CONTINUE READING…
