Elon Musk Reveals Huge Turn: Twitter Has Reached an ‘All Time High’

    Published on

Musk recently revealed that Twitter use has in fact reached a record as the social media community continues to get used to Elon Musk becoming the owner of the popular microblogging platform.

On Monday, Musk tweeted, “Twitter usage is at an all-time high lol.”

Since Musk took control of Twitter, the technology news website The Verge has examined its use. It was revealed on Monday that an internal business document revealed an increase in the number of Twitter users.

“Since Musk’s dramatic takeover, Twitter’s monetizable daily user (mDAU) growth has accelerated to more than 20 percent,” according to The Verge.

The United States is currently Twitter’s fastest-growing market after Musk’s official takeover, according to statistics The Verge obtained.

Musk even made the ironic remark, “I just hope the servers don’t melt,” in reference to the rising user numbers.

The good news of increased user numbers is especially welcome for Musk, who is still trying to court advertisers—the main source of revenue for Twitter over the years.

According to the financial news website Investopedia, advertising services account for about 89 percent of Twitter’s earnings.

Users on a site are what attract advertisers.

“Twitter generates the majority of its revenue through selling ad space on its platform to global advertisers. To attract advertisers it needs a large and growing user base,” according to Investopedia.

Now, it appears that Musk already has a growing base of users that will interest advertising.

Musk has also made an effort to personally win over sponsors with his claims that the platform will advance and turn into a “common digital town square.”

On Oct. 27, shortly after acquiring Twitter, Musk tweeted a statement outlining his plans, turning his attention to advertisers.

More on this story via The Western Journal:

“The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence,” Musk posted.

“I also very much believe that advertising, when done right, can delight, entertain and inform you; it can show you a service or product or medical treatment that you never knew existed, but is right for you. For this to be true, it is essential to show Twitter users advertising that is as relevant as possible to their needs. Low relevancy ads are spam, but highly relevant ads are actually content!” he wrote.

However, since Musk has been rolling out changes to the platform, he also tweeted on Friday that revenue has dropped. CONTINUE READING…
