This week, President Joe Biden once again stumbled over his words as the 80-year-old mixed up his geography while discussing railroads.
During a speech at the annual dinner of the League of Conservation Voters in Washington, D.C., the president stirred up social media when he proposed building a railroad “across” the world’s third-largest ocean. Biden made the remark while criticizing China’s Belt and Road Initiative, a series of infrastructure projects led by China around the globe.
“China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), sometimes referred to as the New Silk Road, is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects ever conceived. Launched in 2013 by President Xi Jinping, the vast collection of development and investment initiatives was originally devised to link East Asia and Europe through physical infrastructure. In the decade since, the project has expanded to Africa, Oceania, and Latin America, significantly broadening China’s economic and political influence,” the Council on Foreign Relations reported.
According to the transcript from the White House, Biden stated, “We have plans to construct a railroad from the Pacific to the Indian Ocean. We intend to construct one of the world’s largest solar power facilities in Angola. I could continue, but I won’t. I’m veering off-topic. I will get into difficulty.”
This week, a video footage of the remarks went viral on Twitter and amassed millions of views. Additionally, the video received numerous responses from prominent figures.

Biden continues to receive negative news about his presidency.
Two-thirds of respondents in a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS do not want Biden to run again. In addition, the survey suggests that Biden’s favorability rating may have decreased after the Democrats’ performance in the 2022 elections exceeded expectations.
Biden’s current approval rating is 42%, while his disapproval rating is 57%.
The poll also revealed that Biden has much lower approval ratings among Americans who believe he should serve a second term. 67% of Americans believe he does not deserve another term in office, compared to 32% who believe he does. However, Biden’s numbers are slightly better among registered voters, with 36% believing he merits a second term compared to 61% who disagree.
A majority of registered Democrats and independents who lean Democratic also oppose Biden standing for reelection. 44% of this group favored Biden as the Democratic Party’s nominee for the 2024 presidential election, while 54% favored another candidate, according to the results of a survey, as reported by the Daily Wire.

When asked who they would like to replace Biden as the Democratic Party’s nominee in 2024, most Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents (69%) did not have a specific answer beyond “just someone besides Joe Biden.” Among those who specified someone else, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was the top pick with 5%, followed by Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg with 4%. Vice President Kamala Harris and former First Lady Michelle Obama tied for third place, each receiving 3% of the responses. CONTINUE READING…
