DOJ ‘mistakenly’ exposes list of Trump files from Mar-a-Lago Including notes on who should get a pardon

    Published on

A number of documents that were taken during the FBI raid on the former president Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate have been “accidentally” placed online by the Department of Justice. Inadvertently either indicates that DOJ employees are total fool or that it was done on purpose as a subliminal warning to Trump that they could act unlawfully against him.

Trump requested a Special Master to handle the case involving the records that the FBI acquired during the historic search of his Mar-a-Lago residence in August.

A judge that Trump nominated granted his request, despite the fact that all liberal legal commentators criticized the situation and claimed that the judge was unjust for supporting Trump.

The email, which Trump’s attorneys are attempting to hide from government investigators, relates to presidential pardons near the end of Trump’s administration. Among the documents released by the DOJ were discussions about the former governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojovich.

According to the U.K.’s Daily Mail, DOJ officials published all of those records despite a judge’s order that they be kept secret and under seal “on a government court docket where they are no longer available.” This may have happened accidentally or on design.

“A document called ‘The President’s Calls’ has note reading, ‘Message from Rudy,’ a possible reference to former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who is a target in the Georgia election probe and was involved in Trump’s election overturn effort,” according to the Mail.

It includes four blank pages with ‘miscellaneous handwritten notes.’

The document does not, ‘on its face,’ appear to be related to legal advice, according to the sealed memo.

One note with typos says ‘Joe DeGernova Appoint Special Councel [sic],’ which could indicate Joe DiGenova, the former U.S. attorney who appeared with Rudy Giuliani at an infamous RNC press conference after the election.

It also includes a ‘Post-it note ‘from Cleta Mitchell,’ who is a Washington lawyer who advised Trump during the overturn effort during his last weeks in office.

Other documents refer to pardon and commutation discussions using only initials of the people being considered. Trump went on a pardon spree during his last weeks in office.

A lawyer on the privilege review team allegedly gave the group a 39-page document that “appears to reflect the former president’s calls,” according to the document. It says that many of the pages have the presidential seal on them and are titled “The President’s Calls.”

There are two types of documents that can be used as “possible” privileges.

An unsigned letter from Trump attorney Marc Kasowitz’s office to Robert Mueller, dated June 2017, is one of the records deemed to potentially have privileged status.

‘Executive Action to Curb Illegal Immigration and Move Towards Merit-Based Entry’ was a document that was present.

    E. Jean Carol, a Trump rape accuser, is mentioned in a second document. Trump has refuted all of the allegations, and the case is currently the subject of defamation litigation.

The Mail continued, “Another document contained the last page of a letter signed by Trump friend and casino magnate Phil Ruffin.”

A legal bill from the litigation firm Stein, Mitchell, Beato & Missner is mentioned in one line.

Post-it note not cited ‘said you agreed to pay this bill? Work prior to his becoming WH counsel.’ ‘No.’

Pat Cipollone, a former White House attorney who defended Trump during his first impeachment, joined the administration from that company.

Bills for legal fees billed by Trump attorney Alina Habba are included in the file.

The source states that “In addition, there is a ‘nondisclosure agreement regarding Save America,’ the PAC that has become a main political vehicle for Trump since he left office.”

Raymond Dearie has been assigned to the case as the special master by U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon.

Late last month Cannon overruled an order by Dearie that said former President Donald Trump needed to provide any “final” objections or disputes regarding the items seized by the FBI during its unprecedented raid on Mar-a-Lago last month, ” according to Fox News.

Dearie requested last week that the Trump team submit a declaration of affidavit by no later than September 30 that includes a list of any specific items in the property inventory that they claim were not taken from the premises; a list of items that were taken but whose contents or locations were incorrect; and a list and description of any items that Trump’s legal team claims were taken but are not listed in the property receipt.

Dearie stated in the filing last week that “This submission shall be plaintiff’s final opportunity to raise any factual dispute as to the completeness and accuracy of the Detailed property inventory.”

More on this story via The Republic Brief:

After reviewing his order, Cannon ruled that there “shall be no separate requirement” for Trump “at this stage, prior to the review of the Seized Materials, to lodge ex ante final objections to the accuracy of Defendant’s Inventory, its descriptions, or its contents.”

John Ratcliffe, who Trump appointed as Director of National Intelligence (DNI), said on Fox News last week that the FBI “didn’t find what they were looking” for, based on his assessment. CONTINUE READING…
