Disney Theme Park Traps Visitors Inside After Emergency Situation Prompts Park’s Total Shut Down

At the Shanghai Disneyland, China’s zero-tolerance COVID policy went into effect on Monday. The place closed its doors and would not let anyone in or out.

According to CNBC, 10 regionally transmitted COVID instances that were all asymptomatic were recorded on Monday.

People won’t be able to leave Shanghai Disneyland until they can provide a COVID test result that is negative, the city of Shanghai declared.

A spokeswoman from Shanghai Disney stated that the theme park was merely adhering to the requirements imposed to businesses by the Chinese government’s health authority.

When guests hurried to the park gates to try to exit, they discovered that the gates had already been closed, trapping them within the park.

For the tourists it had imprisoned in the park, the Shanghai government permitted the park to keep running its rides.

All visitors are said to have left the park later in the day after all test results were negative, a Disney spokesperson told Fox Business on Monday.

However, the Shanghai government has stipulated that everybody who has been to the park since Thursday must undergo three consecutive days of negative COVID tests.

They cannot leave their houses for anything, not even for job, school, or grocery shopping, until they test negative.

Along with the theme park, the park’s whole neighborhood, including its main commercial street, had been closed.

Prior to Monday, the Shanghai Disney Resort had been locked down earlier in the year for more than three months.

Authorities held 30,000 visitors hostage inside for two days in November 2021 until they returned a negative test result.

China has been known to implement sudden lockdowns at businesses on other occasions as well, according to BBC news.

A Shanghai branch of IKEA, as well as various workplaces, have been forced into COVID-related lockdowns in the past.

People have generally attempted to race to exits and escape outside so they can flee to their homes rather than getting locked inside companies implementing a COVID lockdown. CONTINUE READING…
