On Big Tech social media sites, the only thing conservatives ever asked for was a realistic, fair opportunity to pose questions without being immediately filtered to the ground. Elon Musk, Twitter’s new owner, is ensuring that this occurs.
That was demonstrated on Sunday when Arizona governor candidate Kari Lake, a Republican, asked Musk why it was impossible to retweet, like, or comment on a thread quoting an article about her just-filed, 70-page improper conduct lawsuit against Maricopa County. Lake lost the race for governor in the 2022 midterm elections.
“Is Twitter still suppressing election criticism & news? Notice how the ReTweet/Comment/Like features are disabled on the tweet about my Election Lawsuit? @elonmusk what’s up with this??” Lake tweeted.

Less than two hours later, Musk replied to Lake and shared his perspective on the subject. Musk has repeatedly shown that he is approachable and willing to deal with Twitter’s many problems.
Reasonable criticism of elections and judicial challenges are, of course, lawful. That seems to be the case here.
Clear incitement to violence will result in suspension and significant deception should result in a @CommunityNotes correction.

“Reasonable criticism of elections and judicial challenges are, of course, lawful. That seems to be the case here. Clear incitement to violence will result in suspension and significant deception should result in a @CommunityNotes correction,” Musk posted.
It’s logical to assume that Lake would not only not have received a response to her issue, but also probably would have faced some sort of punishment for asking, thus his reaction was stunning in that regard.
Questioning any electoral procedure anyplace seemed to be a surefire way to get your account suspended under the old guard.
For around half of the country, Musk recognizing the problem and calling Lake’s criticism of the 2022 midterm elections “reasonable” is nothing less than a game-changer. It seems like the appropriate course of action to pursue in light of all the recent politically contentious situations, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
It turned out that the disabled features on the post referencing the Arizona Sun Times article about Lake’s lawsuit were either a bug or a user-side mistake in this particular instance. The options to like, retweet, and comment on the post are all fully operational as of the time of this writing.
As promised, here is my article about @KariLake's powerful lawsuit challenging the election results. The amount of illegal activity alleged is mind numbing, far worse than anything I've reported to date, like 90% of mismatched signatures just ACCEPTED. https://t.co/3tkKnEEt7h

More on this story via The Western Journal:
In the comments section of the post of the Twitter user who linked the Sun Times’ story about Lake’s lawsuit, numerous users pointed out that they believed they were still being suspended and censored for certain election-related posts.
“What about posting election news stories? I’ve received 3 temporary bans for doing just that. Unless and until you get rid of the Civic Integrity Policy, Twitter cannot claim to embrace free speech and will remain biased against conservative accounts,” one Twitter user wrote. CONTINUE READING…
