Prominent Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has frequently made news for living up to his words, getting his hands dirty and helping out during emergencies, and handling everything with a healthy dose of humor.
The 44-year-old DeSantis is sweeping the Republican Party with his bold, conservative leadership and his commitment to maintaining his political integrity. Although at the moment he is focused on his state and the welfare of individuals in Florida, others are anticipating that he may run for president in 2024. DeSantis was keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Nicole and putting protocols in place when voters cast their ballots on Tuesday.
For presidential elections, Florida is a key state. Hillary Clinton won Miami by 23 points six years ago. In 2020, President Biden won it by a seven-point margin. DeSantis has since turned the entire city red. The media was surprised, particularly MSNBC, where there were allegedly gasps when the results were announced. As 2024 draws closer, DeSantis has now strengthened the Republican position in the Sunshine State.
Voting results on Tuesday demonstrated how much Floridians adore their governor. On Tuesday, Ron DeSantis easily swept to triumph after delivering a barnstorming victory speech that brought conservatives to their feet in raucous applause. Every Republican should look to his path to success as a future road map.
The race was so clear-cut that, according to the Daily Mail, the Associated Press declared victory less than an hour after the votes closed at 7 p.m.
DeSantis received 4,607,597 votes, or 59.4% of the vote, for a resounding victory. According to The Guardian, Democratic candidate Charlie Crist received 3,100,603 votes, or 40% of the total. DeSantis’ lead is enormous compared to the generally close margins in contests around the nation.
During this election, the well-liked governor accumulated a sizable war fund of little around $200 million. He is in a good position to run in 2024 if he so chooses. Hispanics make up a significant portion of his support base, which is helping him advance.
“A big win in Florida is a huge proof point for DeSantis, a strong point for showcasing governing strength and electoral strength,” said senior Republican campaign consultant David Kochel, who is from Iowa, the state with the first-in-the-nation caucuses. “The fact DeSantis won by a hair in 2018 and now he’s blowing away Democrats sends a message.”
To applause, DeSantis praised American freedom in his victory speech.

“We saw freedom and our very way of life in so many other jurisdictions in this country wither on the vine. Florida held the line,” he remarked to wild cheering. “We chose facts over fear, we chose education over indoctrination, we chose law in order over rioting and disorder.”
“Florida was a refuge of sanity when the world went mad. We stood as the citadel of freedom for people across this country and indeed, across the world. We faced attacks, we took the hits, we weathered the storms but we stood our ground,” DeSantis continued.
“We did not back down. We had the conviction to guide us and we had the courage to lead. We made promises. We made promises to the people of Florida and we have delivered on those promises. And so today, after four years, the people have delivered their verdict,” he added. CONTINUE READING…
