Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, has declared war on billionaire George Soros.
Fox News stated that Soros, a liberal financier and activist, had helped bankroll a left-wing radio network targeting Hispanic Americans.
DeSantis stated in a statement to the outlet that the Hungarian-born businessman is attempting to “manipulate” the media environment in his state in order to promote a “Marxist agenda on voters.”
Thus, the re-election campaign of the Republican governor is striking back at Soros.
DeSantis is cautioning voters about the media purchase and “leftist disinformation” as he continues his “fight against socialism in America,” according to a statement from his team.
“Governor Ron DeSantis is taking [on] Soros on his own turf with a Spanish language ad buy on the Soros network, serving as a PSA to Hispanic Floridians to warn of the pro-socialism, radical agenda behind The Latino Media Network,” reports the DeSantis campaign to Fox News.
The Latino Media Network will consist of 18 Hispanic radio stations in Florida and other states. In Miami, these include WAQI-AM and WQBA-AM.
This new network was revealed on Friday and funded in part by Lakestar Finance, an investment firm linked with Soros Fund Management.
Axios reported that left-leaning activists and businesswomen Jess Morales Rocketto and Stephanie Valencia are leading the network formation and have raised $80 million to begin it.

Rocketto is an “alumna of Hillary for America, the AFL-CIO, Obama for America, the Democratic National Committee, Rebuild the Dream, and the New Organizing Institute,” according to the Ash Center at Harvard’s Kennedy School.
Valencia was a White House staffer during the Barack Obama administration, Fox News reported.
Rocketto and Valencia expect the network to give them “access to one-third of the Hispanic population.” Read more…
