The House Democrats have chosen Hakeem Jeffries to lead them in place of Nancy Pelosi.
He appears to be the ideal candidate for the Democratic Party at first glance. His youth and race should assist the Democrats to win over their core constituency.
The Democrats do face one drawback, though: Jeffries is what they would refer to as an “election denier.”
Fox News alleges that Jeffries has questioned the validity of the 2016 election on numerous occasions, accused Russia of interfering, and made statements about the 2016 election that are similar to those that former President Donald Trump said regarding the 2020 election.
But don’t believe Fox’s assertions. These videos show Jeffries disputing the validity of the 2016 election.
In one video, Jeffries asserts that Russia meddled in the 2016 election in order to “artificially” put Trump in the White House.

In another video, Jeffries asserts that a “malignant tumor” was “embedded in the 2016 campaign” and that a “cloud of illegitimacy” loomed over the Trump administration.

Additionally, Jeffries has claimed that the Republicans suppressed voters in order to steal the 2016 election.

What kind of political party worships at the altar of voter suppression?
A morally bankrupt one.

Republicans want to make it harder to vote and easier to steal an election.
We will crush voter suppression with the fierce urgency of now.
Pass HR 1.

The Democrats don’t look good in this situation. They recently won the midterm elections, and one of their primary talking points was that many Republicans were “election deniers” because they weren’t optimistic about the 2020 presidential race.
They have targeted Trump in particular in recent years due to his reluctance to recognize the outcome of that election, and they have claimed that any inquiries into or concerns about suspected voter fraud pose a “danger to democracy.”
It seems that these assertions are only a “threat to democracy” if they relate to an election that a Democrat won. It’s completely normal for folks to inquire about a Republican-won election.
The Democrats frequently talk about “protecting democracy,” yet once democracy fails to go their way, they are completely against it.
