Following President Joe Biden’s address to the country in prime time on Thursday, CNN’s White House correspondent abruptly announced his departure from the cable network in the early morning hours.
John Harwood, who has been characterized by numerous publications as having a large pro-left bias, announced his departure from CNN through Twitter. Harwood joined the network in 2020 after transferring from CNBC.

The action was taken when Harwood tweeted, seemingly endorsing Biden’s combative language in his speech on Thursday night.
In his remarks, Biden repeatedly used the term “MAGA Republicans,” which, based on endorsement rates among GOP voters and favorability ratings, would appear to refer to the vast majority of the roughly 74 million Americans who supported Trump in the 2020 election. Despite Biden’s stupid assertion that “Not every Republican, not even the majority of Republicans, are MAGA Republicans,” this is the case.
“Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic,” said Biden in his subsequent statement.
“MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people,” he continued. They reject the concept of the rule of law. They said that Trump supporters “do not acknowledge the will of the people,” called them “MAGA forces,” and said that they “are determined to take this country backwards.”
“Biden’s assertion that Trump and extremist Republicans pose a threat to American democracy is, undeniably, true” Harwood tweeted shortly after.

Harwood announced his departure a short while thereafter.
A CNN spokeswoman reportedly remarked, “We appreciate John’s work covering the White House, and we wish him all the best.” according to Fox News. The source said that Harwood’s contract has two more years left, according to Puck’s Dylan Byers.

Like Harwood, Stelter was still under contract, having only just renewed his. CONTINUE READING…
