Blue City Nightmare Becomes Reality, Wife Grieves After 911 Does the Unthinkable

One Texas woman recounts a horrific experience with the emergency services in her community on the day her spouse passed away.

Tanya Gotcher of Austin claims that she was put on hold by 911 as her spouse, Casey Gotcher, experienced a heart attack that would prove fatal in May.

According to KEYE-TV in Austin, Gotcher described the emergency call as taking place on a “phone just ringing, and ringing, and ringing,”

The Gotchers were initially helpless in what turned out to be a life-or-death situation due to the lack of local emergency services.

According to KEYE, Tanya Gotcher even thought about going to her neighbors’ home or to a nearby fire station for help but decided against it since she didn’t want to leave her husband by himself.

When Gotcher ultimately needed emergency help, her father-in-law, who was in a separate county, dialed 911.

First responders took “another 25 minutes” to arrive to the residence of the Gotcher family, according to Gotcher. Later that day, Casey Gotcher passed away, leaving behind Tanya as well as two sons and a large extended family.

“When you hear the phone ring for 15 minutes and you can’t get to anybody to help you is the worst nightmare that you could have,” Gotcher added.

Republican candidate for Travis County judge Rupal Chaudhari featured Gotcher’s account in one of her campaign commercials. (In Texas, “county judge” is the title for a post that is roughly equal to what is known as “county commission chairman” in the majority of the rest of the country.)

Gotcher doesn’t hold the on-scene emergency personnel responsible for the catastrophe. She is criticizing a system that is inadequately unable to meet the urgent demands of Travis County citizens in Austin, the deep-blue capital of Texas.

Law enforcement agencies across the country have incurred new staffing shortages in the aftermath of 2020’s Black Lives Matter riot movement. These shortcomings apply to auxiliary employees of public safety organizations, such as 911 dispatchers.

Police departments of major cities have ended up woefully understaffed, a development with serious consequences for public safety.

The Austin City Council defunded its police department by $150 million in 2020, going well beyond even more left-wing cities in blue states, according to an August 2020 report in the Texas Tribune, a left-leaning online news site. CONTINUE READING…
