Former Attorney General Bill Barr was unsure whether he would vote for President Joe Biden or his former employer Donald Trump in the general election.
Barr told NBC News for a survey that he would not support Trump in the general election if the candidates were the same as in 2020, but added, “I’ll jump off that bridge when I get to it.”
After the 2020 presidential election, the former director of the Department of Justice, whom Trump selected, criticized the leading Republican candidate for his behavior. Trump has received criticism for his legal troubles.
“I have made clear that I strongly oppose Trump for the nomination and will not endorse Trump,” Barr told NBC News. When asked how he would vote if Trump faced Biden in the general election, Barr said, “I’ll jump off that bridge when I get to it.”
Barr referred to Trump as a “consummate narcissist” and described his actions as “reckless” in the aftermath of Trump’s federal indictment on charges related to his handling of classified information after leaving office.
