As suggested by Vice President Biden, he would employ “legitimate” constitutional means to prevent Donald Trump from assuming the presidency in 2024.
Biden spoke at a “victory lap” press conference after the midterm elections even though Republicans were expected to take control of the House and try to remove him from office. It’s too early to predict whether the GOP will win the Senate. How would Biden express “that the former President will not return” a reporter questioned.
“How do you reassure [world leaders] … that the former President will not return or that his political movement, which is still very strong, will not once again take power in the United States?” a reporter enquired.
Biden finds it absurd to think that Trump’s political movement is powerful.
“Well, we just have to demonstrate that he will not take power by — if we — if he does run,” Biden stated. “I’m making sure he, under legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next President again.”

Other than running for re-election, it’s unclear what “legitimate” constitutional actions Biden may take to stop Trump from assuming the presidency in 2024. That situation has become more possible as a result of Republicans’ dismal midterm performance.
“While the press and the pundits [were] predicting a giant red wave, it didn’t happen,” Biden said in a statement praising the election results.
Despite the fact that it’s most likely that the GOP would eventually recover control of the House and they still have a chance in the Senate, he asserted that “Democrats had a strong night.”

“Former President Donald Trump has teased a big announcement this coming Tuesday, with speculation being that it will involve announcing his presidential campaign in 2024,” according to the Political Insider.
A more assured Biden hinted that he will be running again during the press conference.
When a reporter stated that exit polls show two-thirds of Americans do not want Biden to run in 2024, the president’s response was, “Watch me.”

Biden’s latest comments are reminiscent of those he made in the midst of the 2020 presidential election, suggesting the military could be used to escort Trump out of the White House.
“I promise, I am absolutely convinced they [the military] will escort him from the White House with great dispatch,” Biden replied when it was implied that Trump would not leave voluntarily.
In addition to his claims about Trump, the then-candidate for president said he was going to try to “steal this election.” CONTINUE READING…
