The federal government received a very clear message from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis that his state is NOT a “sanctuary” state for undocumented residents.
Nevertheless, illegal immigrants who crossed the southern border have been flown and transported by bus to Florida.
The people were originally given food and clothing before being sent on to states who Got declared themselves “sanctuaries” for illegal immigrants. Governor DeSantis had had enough of this and found a solution.
DeSantis became sick of wasting taxpayer money to participate in this game of chicken and dispatched a group to a prominent area where they would be sure to draw attention to the issue when nothing changed and immigrants were kept being transferred to his state.
Democrats took very personally the transport of over 40 illegal immigrants to posh, ultra-white Martha’s Vineyard last month because it exposed their hypocrisy regarding sanctuary cities.
The federal government is currently attempting to cause issue for the governor and state that have been doing what they said they would do, refusing to heed the suggestion that perhaps the illegals should be transferred directly to states and towns that have expressed a preference to receive them.
With the launch of an investigation into Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the transportation of those illegal immigrants, the Biden administration has officially targeted another prominent Republican political rival. They are focusing on the funds used for the transfer while ignoring the possibility that they could have been sent directly to the location that wanted them.
Business Pac Review notes:
The Treasury Department’s inspector general informed Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey that it would be auditing DeSantis and authorities in the Sunshine State to see if they improperly used American Rescue Plan funds to violate the leftist elite’s very standards, providing yet another chilling illustration of the state becoming a weapon against political enemies of the ruling Democrat Party.
The action against DeSantis is the most outrageous action since Attorney General Merrick Garland escalated the heavily-armed FBI agents’ August raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, which led conservatives to criticize President Joe Biden’s most recent foray into the world of third-world dictatorships.
In a letter dated October 7 to Markey and other Massachusetts Democrats, Treasury Department Deputy Inspector General Richard K. Delmar revealed that the federal government is focusing on Republican rock star Ron DeSantis, who is widely regarded as the biggest threat to Biden’s continued hold on the White House if Trump doesn’t run in 2024.
As part of its oversight responsibilities for the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund, The Treasury Office of the Inspector General has audit work planned on recipients’ compliance with eligible use guidancem. In addition, as part of our oversight work of the Coronavirus Relief Fund established by the CARES Act, we have already sought information from Florida about appropriate use of that fund.” The letter continues.
In the letter, it is stated that “We will review the allowability of use of SLFRF funds related to immigration generally, and will specifically confirm whether interest earned on SLFRF funds was utilized by Florida related to immigration activities, and if so, what conditions and limitations apply to such use.”
.@USTreasury responded to my letter, confirming that it will investigate @GovRonDeSantis' use of Covid relief funds to cruelly transport immigrants from Texas to Martha's Vineyard under false pretenses and without any consideration for their personal dignity or basic needs. https://t.co/dJJllv9Piy
