Biden Goes Full Monarch, Erupts on Governors Who Dare to Oppose His Plan

    Published on

President Joe Biden is acting like a complete monarch in a last-ditch effort to stop midterm losses.

On Tuesday, Biden slammed Republicans who opposed his clearly unconstitutional plan to bail out students by burdening taxpayers with debts they never opted for on Twitter.

He also sounded less like the head of a nation created by overthrowing the British throne and more like the successor of an empire.

Biden’s statement was a tardy response to a letter from 23 Republican governors from September that criticized the inherent inequity of Biden’s proposal to “forgive” $10,000 or $20,000 in student loans per recipient by requiring everyone else to pay them back. (Originally, 22 governors signed it, but Virginia’s Glenn Youngkin showed up later.)

It was also a dig at Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who called the plan a brazen vote-buying scheme targeted at the type of overeducated, underachievers courted by the Democratic Party in an August podcast.

The elected executives of 23 states in the union were the subject of a question from the US president “Who the hell do they think they are?”

In reality, Biden is begging shamelessly for votes as the November elections draw closer, which are looking worse and worse for the Democrats who presently control the House and Senate. (Tuesday night’s disastrous debate performance by John Fetterman just made the Democratic prospects worse.)

It’s also Biden playing the role of the kind monarch, arguing that since the president is a Democrat and has only the purest of motives, the 21st century does not apply to the authority of the purse that the Constitution clearly grants to Congress.

The issue for Biden, though, is that it is not a matter of who people believe themselves to be. It reflects who they really are.

And it includes a guy who was legally elected to the U.S. Senate by voters in the greatest of those states, as well as 23 men and women who represent states with a combined population of over 143 million people, or more than 40% of a country of 330 million.

That means they have not just the right but an obligation to stand up for the citizens who elected them by asking a president deep into his dotage to pull back from a decision that’s not only morally wrong but likely on a collision course with the country’s courts.

“Only 16-17 percent of Americans have federal student loan debt, and yet, your plan will require their debts be redistributed and paid by the vast majority of taxpayers,” the governors wrote, with Iowa’s Kim Reynolds heading the signatures. CONTINUE READING…
