Another Navy SEAL Seals the Deal: Flips Wisconsin House Seat Red for 1st Time in Decades

    Published on

Retired U.S. Navy SEALs performed well in Tuesday night’s midterm exams.

According to Fox News, Republican Derrick Van Orden, a retired SEAL, defeated Democrat Brad Pfaff in Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, turning the district from blue to red for the first time in 26 years.

After 13-term Democratic Rep. Ron Kind decided not to run for reelection, the seat in the state’s rural western region became vacant.

Taking 52 percent of the vote against Pfaff’s 48 percent, Van Orden won the contest.

According to the campaign website, the Navy veteran served 26 years in the military and deployed five times, including to Afghanistan and Iraq.

When running against Kind in 2020, Van Orden fell just short, losing by a margin of less than 3 percentage points.

“There’s not a single God-fearing Christian that is a leftist, because those two things are incompatible,” the former SEAL remarked at a neighborhood prayer breakfast last month.

Many liberals “just don’t” love our country, he continued.

Eli Crane, a former Navy SEAL, defeated Tom O’Halleran to win Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District. Arizona’s Prescott and Flagstaff are part of the second, which also reaches the state’s border with New Mexico and Utah.

According to The New York Times, as of Wednesday afternoon, Crane has 53.6 percent of the vote against O’Halleran’s 46.4 percent.

The veteran is described as ““faith-oriented, family man and is pro-life, pro-second amendment, and unafraid to take a stand against cancel culture and the radical left” on his campaign website, which also notes that he participated in five overseas deployments.

Crane declared, “I love this country, and I want to make sure my that daughters get to grow up with the same amount of freedoms and opportunities that you and I did,” during a GOP election-night campaign event in Prescott.

Finally, as of Wednesday afternoon, Republican Ryan Zinke, a former U.S. Navy Seal, led Democrat Monica Tranel by over five percentage points in the battle to represent Montana’s 1st Congressional District.

Before becoming the secretary of the interior in the Trump administration, Zinke served in Congress from 2015 to 2017.

According to his campaign website, Zinke spent 23 years in the military, including a deployment to Iraq where he oversaw 3,500 Special Operations forces.
